The Rhthym is Going to Get You
In 2007 the KSO offered a Kenton-esque Latin jazz concert for a few hundred people indoors. As our musicians are the last of a generation who performed with and/or were mentored by the greats of the 50s and 60s, we figured we should share this high octane music with an audience of several thousand in the park.

Artists of every discipline and genre - poets, musicians, dancers, playwrights, actors, performers, filmmakers - are invited to demonstrate their craft every Monday in the Center's Kaplan Hall Lobby. 44 celebrates all forms of art and all stages of artistic practice. From dramatic readings to rehearsals to full-scale performances, 44 provides a dual experience - to artists seeking new audiences and venues, and to the downtown community seeking creative interaction.

Views from the Uffizi: Painting the Italian Landscape
Tranquil, stormy, or epic, landscape painting can take on many moods. A selection of 40 landscape paintings from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, surveys the evolution of landscape painting in Italy over three centuries, from the Renaissance through the 18th century. Included are works by such great painters as Botticelli, Guercino, Poussin, Claude Lorrain, and Canaletto. Altogether, the landscapes painted in Italy formed the basis of the European landscape tradition, as seen in the Taft Museum of Art's own collection.
